FAQs

What is our first session like?

Our first intake session is a chance for me to hear your story. If we’ve already had a consultation call, it will often be an extension of that conversation in more detail.

By the end of the second or third session, I like to have some kind of a plan for how we will work together. We will establish some goals and a plan for how to meet them.

I will also save a few minutes to go over any questions about my forms (HIPAA, informed consent, etc).

Who do you treat?

I work with individual adults. If helpful, you are welcome to bring a partner, friend, or family member into your session for a collateral meeting. These special sessions are to serve you in your goals, and help you express yourself to this other party in a safe space.

How long are sessions?

My sessions are 45 minutes.

What are your rates? Do you take insurance?

My rate is $250 per 45 minute session, and I require a credit card on file before your first appointment. I am not in network with any insurance panels, but I will offer superbills for you to submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

I have limited sliding scale spots reserved for special financial constraints or other considerations and always welcome a conversation if you are in need.

How often will we meet?

In my experience, therapy is most effective when we meet weekly. I appreciate at least a 3 month commitment of weekly sessions to start. That being said, I am open to discussion with long-term clients about moving down to biweekly. I will always try to be flexible with reschedules.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

I require a 24 hour minimum cancellation (Monday appointments by Friday). Exceptions include extreme illness or emergency. If you miss a session without notifying me or if we are not able to reschedule, your card will be charged the full session fee.

Are sessions virtual or in-person?

At the moment, I am only accepting virtual clients. Occasionally I have openings in person in Lower Manhattan, so feel free to inquire.
